Micheal Heaney Co-Head Coach

Mike has been a swimmer for over 50 years and a coach for over 35 (20 with WCM).  Mike swam at DVC and San Francisco State before beginning his Masters swimming career in 1990. In 2021.  Mike  joined Steve as co-head coaches of WCM.

Stephen Stahl Co-Head Coach

Steve  swam and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1987.  He has been a member of Walnut Creek Masters since 1989.  He began coaching under Kerry O'brien in 1992. On September 1, 2021 he and Mike assumed the Co-Head coaching position with the team.

Debbie Santos Assistant Coach

Debbie grew up swimming in Marin County.  She swam for the University of Arizona and went on to get her CA teaching credential. She began coaching in 1986 and has coached summer, USA and high school teams. She has been coaching at Walnut Creek Masters for almost 20 years. 

 
Lisa Ward Assistant Coach

Lisa was an age group swimmer and swam for the University of Hawaii. She has been coaching all ages since 1984. She has been a member of Walnut Creek Masters since 1996 and began coaching for WCM in 2010.  Lisa is a recipient of the USMS Kerry O’Brien Coaching and Fitness Education Awards. She is USMS certified as a level 3 coach and ALTS instructor.
 

Lee Ward Assistant Coach

Lee started swimming when he was 5 years old and hasn't stopped yet. He started coaching in 2011 with the Walnut Creek Aquabears. He swam at DVC in 2012 and 2013 and then for University of the Pacific in 2014-2016. He currently coaches with WCAB, WCM, DVC, Northgate High School.

Russell Mikuni Assistant Coach

Russell grew up swimming in Concord and Walnut Creek, competing in Summer Rec, High School and later at DVC. He started out coaching Summer Rec for 7 years before he moved on to year round coaching where he has now been with the Aquabears for over 20 years.
 

Harold Boscovich Team Manager

Harold "Bosco" Boscovich

Bosco has been the Team Manager of Walnut Creek Masters since 1987. As Team Manager, he is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors with no voting rights. He is responsible for maintaining the registration of all members and responsible for the day to day business operation of the Team. 

He was employed as a police officer in Oakland for almost 9 years and then for over 33 years with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. He retired from the District Attorney's Office in 2004, as the Director of the Victim/Witness Assistance Division, a program he began in 1974, as the first of its kind in California and one of the original eight such programs in the Nation. His retirement was short-lived however, as he was asked to return to work on various projects and he continues to work for the District Attorney's Office as a retired annuitant. He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Alameda County Family Justice Center, Oakland, a non-profit, one-stop location for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and elder abuse, and their families. Bosco competes in the 75-79 age group.
