The Swim From Del Valle
About 30 Creekers participated in the
1.5 national championship open water swim race, and the shorter .75
mile preliminary race, held at Lake Del Valle in Livermore on
Sunday, June 4. Swimmers enjoyed near perfect water and
weather conditions. The water turned out to be much warmer
than we expected, around 70 degrees. There was a large
turnout for the day, and the competition in each group was
fierce. Notable first place finishers in their age groups
were Don Brown, Ed Lane and Dean Harper. We will update the
list of competitors and our other WCM award winners as soon as the
race results are available on-line. After the race, about 40 Team
members and family members enjoyed a Team picnic hosted by the
Team, with Chefs Bosco and Tom Flickinger making sure no one left
hungry.
