Creekers, we need you!
Walnut Creek will again be partnering with Tri-Valley Masters to
host the 2010 Pacific Masters Short Course Championships on April
16-18 at the Bengston Aquatic Center in Pleasanton. There are three
ways you can contribute to this effort: swim, volunteer and
donate.
SWIM. Typically our main competition for the
overall team championship is USF Masters. This year that DAM team
(Davis Aquatic Masters) is going all out to take the throne. How do
we retain our crown? Simple, have a lot of Creekers enter and swim
at the meet. A big turn out helps in two ways, first we score more
points in individual events. The top 8 places in every event
in every age group earn points and there are plenty of events where
there aren’t even 8 entries. Just by entering and swimming
you may help your team. A big turn out also lets us enter more
relays and relays earn double the points. Two years ago we lost the
championships by just a few points and Kerry spent weeks in a deep
funk, moping around the pool. Don’t let this happen again!

VOLUNTEER. Hosting the Championships is one of
our most important fundraising activities and is an essential
ingredient to keeping team dues as low as possible. As team host we
bear the responsibility of filling the jobs necessary to conduct a
successful meet. We need your help to time, check in, marshal,
check records, etc. This meet we have added the additional
volunteer category of ‘utility’; just sign up for a
specified time and we’ll put you where you are needed most.

DONATE. Finally, you can support the team by
sponsoring a lane or event or purchasing a program advertisement.
